Hey Jason,
I am visiting my grandparents in the city of Rome. I have never been to a big city before. We went to the amphitheater. It was so cool. We saw a Gladiator battle. They were so well trainded and had exellent fighting skills. We also saw two beasts fight each other and they both were very agressive but in the end the bigger beast won. Then we went to the baths to cool off. There were hot and cold baths. The cold baths were so relaxing and felt so good after standing out in the sun. The hot baths were so interesting. they had a heating system under the baths that would heat the water. It relaxed your muscles and felt very good. The most interesting thing is the roads. They are the most complex roads i have ever seen. They have speed bumps. Speed bumps make sure people dont go to fast in their chariots. They also had raised sidewalks that people could walk along the road without getting in the way of the chariots. The roads also had a gutter that lead to a sewer system. This is to prevent flooding in the city. Another thing we saw was the aqueduct. It was so complex. It collected water from the mountains and ran over a river and in to a a storage building that had three pipes. The three pipes would go to fountains, rich people, and the baths. If they had a low supply of water then the private houses were cut off of water. The second people to be cut off of water were the baths. The fountains would stay on till there was no more water left. The last thing we did was go to the Hippodrome. In the Hippodrome we saw chariot races. The chariot racers were so fast and interesting to watch them race each other Everyone was screaming and cheering on their team that they bet on. Unfortunaly i did not bet on the winning team. I had a great time with my grandparents and would sometime like to come back and visit them again.
